Real Estate Tips For COVID Times
The real estate industry in the Kamloops region has seen many changes over the past couple of months, but homes are selling! As we enter Phase 2, it leads us to another stage in the COVID-19 fight and River City Realty is also making sure that we respond to the evolving standards of this time while selling properties. Our REALTORS® are providing an essential service and are available to assist you in buying or selling your home. Despite the slowdown in most industries, properties have been moving during this pandemic in and around Kamloops. River City Realty and our REALTORS® have made the necessary social and physical distancing requirements to stay open for business throughout this crisis and if you are interested in checking out a property, it's important to consider these COVID-19 guidelines when visiting a show home.
Considerations for visiting a show home
Open houses are currently being scheduled by appointment only. If you are interested in a property, contact your REALTOR® to make appointments with developers, FSBO & properties listed For Sale with a REALTOR® . While visiting (and leaving) a show home, potential buyers are advised to: use hand sanitizer provided, practice physical distancing and avoid any unnecessary contact with surfaces in a home. Some may even choose to wear gloves and faces masks.
Minimize the number of people that you bring
Once you have a place in mind, ask your REALTOR® how many people can attend a viewing on your initial tour. Avoid having children roam free in the house and ideally, consider getting a sitter for the initial viewing of the home.
Follow the guidelines of the listing agent
As each person's sensitivities are different, we need to respect the wishes of the sellers, as much as possible. Your REALTOR® will be advised of any special protocols that are in place. Please discuss any concerns with your agent.
Avoid interior time when viewing
Make your time in the home efficient and limit unnecessary discussions or questions and do not touch surfaces, such as light switches and door knobs when viewing a home. Check out a virtual tour before viewing a home to get a better perception of its interior layout.
